Meet Kerry Graves, CCTP, MSW, LCSWA, PhD

Mr. Kerry Graves, CCTP, MSW, LCSWA, PhD, is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, a Mental Health Sports Therapist, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Author, Speaker, Private Investigator, Personal Protection Specialist, and Child Welfare Expert. He has shared his expertise on child abuse panels and child abuse organizations with high school and college students and different communities. In 2020, he published a book discussing psychological disturbances in teenagers. In addition, Kerry has shared his expertise on 107.5 WKZL, Greensboro Sports Radio, and WGHP Fox 8; he’s provided on-air protection for CNN and Fox media professionals. His passion is hosting the Second Wind Podcast and traveling across the Eastern Seaboard speaking about child abuse and neglect and a myriad of other topics.

He's been a Psychotherapist for 9 years, and specializes in Trauma Informed DBT, CBT, Play Therapy and Psychoanalysis. He currently helps clients who may have Borderline Personality Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Bi-Polar Disorder, PTSD, Trauma, Victims of Child Abuse and Neglect,  and Victims of Domestic Violence.

Kerry Graves's Studio, Take 2

The Second Wind Podcast is returning for its second season with a focus on social justice and exposing abusers. The host, Kerry Graves, is a former private investigator and child abuse and neglect investigator with extensive experience in the field. The upcoming season will cover topics such as child abuse, domestic violence, human trafficking, and mental health. Graves is determined to call out individuals involved in these crimes and shed light on the issues. The first episode of the second season will be released on April 22nd.

Since 2001, Kerry Graves, CCTP, MSW, LCSWA, PhD has worked in the field and academia of child abuse and neglect. A selection of his accomplishments include the following:

  • He is a current mental health provider for children, teens, and adults and has been active since 2006.
  • He is currently an Abolition NC Curriculum Reviewer (fighting human trafficking).
  • He has investigated child abuse and neglect for over 18 years of work in the field, and has provided mental health therapy to victims of abuse.
  • For nearly a decade, he's worked as a mental health therapist with individuals, including those who showed symptoms of psychological disturbances in the criminal realm.
  • He has served as a Clinical Instructor with the Jordan Institute (Family and Children's Resource Program) where he has taught Social Workers and Law Enforcement professionals how to investigate sexual abuse, the signs and symptoms of sexual abuse, and many other courses.
  • He has written and co-written State manuals on child welfare.
  • He was the Child Welfare Education Collaborative Coordinator for N.C. State University, where he ran the Child Welfare Education program, recruited students on the BSW and MSW level, and advised BSW and MSW students.
